I came across The Rifleman on Amazon and remembered when we had cable this was one of B’s fav’s. I had never seen it until he watched in once in a while on the weekends. So we started with season one and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at what I’ve seen so far. If a parent these days were to do things the way Lucas’ “boy” did in The Rifleman, he’d be in big trouble with any number of government agencies. This show almost seems other worldly in so many ways, to imagine a day when this type of show was written and have been such a success, well, it makes me long for such a time again. So far this has been my favorite episode, in a minute Lucas’s and Mark’s home is destroyed by evil and greedy men and in the next, Marks dad is relating to him a Bible story to give him a different perspective on their situation. “For I know that my Redeemer liveth and that He shall stand beside me later on” Amen! When I was reading Duckies latest article Tough Questions the part about suffering reminded me of this episode. I hope you’re having a wonderful day!
