Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of the Alaskan Bush Country

Last night’s open thread was fun, and interesting.  I was going to post this video on the thread then, but instead figured I could put them up for a whole new post.  I watched these a few years ago, and was mesmerized by it all. Except for Alaskan winters, I would love to do this.

I put it under the categories including “Liberty” because if the way of life Dick Proenneke chose isn’t the epitome of liberty, I don’t know what is.

For more than 30 years  Mr. Proenneke lived alone in the Alaskan Bush.  Through the years, Dick kept written journals of daily life at his place, Twin Lakes

Dick’s place is now a historical site and a part of the Lake Clark National Park & Preserve.

Have a blessed day all
