Pastor Pomeroy from First Baptist Church, Sutherland Springs, Texas gave an incredible message this past Sunday, one week after the horrific mass shooting at his church where his own daughter was included among the dead.
I’ve heard it said before, and believe it with all my heart, that God uses tragedies and the hardest experiences we go through in order to help others. I can’t imagine how hard it had to have been for this pastor to deliver a message that would comfort the hearts of so many- but he did it with much grace, mercy and love which only can come from Christ.
I want to post this short video of his message as a testimony to the Church of Sutherland Springs, that they are doing God’s call by taking their hardest time and sharing it with others, thereby comforting others through it.
One of my favorite scripture verses over the past years has been 2 Corinthians 1:2-4 because I’ve seen it in action, and I pray I will live it until He calls me home.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
The church has been turned into a Memorial,
Our hearts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
PS- if you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, Suffer posted a video of his pastor talking about how to make sense of it all on yesterday’s thread. It’s worth watching.
