In keeping with Passion week, but still desiring to honor our Veterans this week, I took some sage advice from you guys and did a little searching for something interesting and keeping the focus on Jesus.
I found this article by a former Special Forces Soldier who served in Vietnam. Captain Allen Clark earned the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his service in Vietnam where he lost both legs below the knee during a mortar attack . He is now involved in lay ministry, speaking to active duty, veterans and other groups about his battle with PTSD and the restoration through faith in Jesus.
Even though it’s an older article, it’s worth reading, and even passing along to anyone you might know who has served, or knows someone suffering PTSD/TBI injuries due to combat. It may just help someone find real peace and healing. Please go read, God’s Restoration for the Wounded Soldier
Here’s one more, one that Suffer suggested. It’s not exactly Christ centered, although it seems like God worked miracles just the same and it’s a sweet read… WW2 POW- Back from the Dead
God bless and watch over our troops, bless our Veterans.
Have a safe and wonderful day all.
