And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
Jesus died for me. For you. For your neighbor, your friend, your brother, sister, your mother, your father. Jesus died for the alcoholic, the adulterer, the drug addict, the pusher, the pimp, the prostitute and porn actor. He died for democrats, republicans, socialists, communists, dictators and despots.
He died for the little babies, and for the mothers who have aborted them, and the doctors that killed them. He died for murderers, and the religious charlatans.
He died for Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, He died for all from the smallest tribe to the greatest nation. Jesus died for our enemies. Jesus died for our soldiers.
Jesus, Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice, your taking on our pain, humiliation, punishment and Father’s wrath- what we deserve, you suffered. Often I wonder why, because I can’t quite fathom that kind of perfect love that you have for us. But I thank You for Your perfect love.
Please watch over our troops wherever they are, protect them, and let them feel Your presence today and every day, especially in the darkest places.
Thank You Jesus. For Loving us first.
