In the Spotlight

A group of students at Baylor University in Texas discovered something odd.  Being a Christian university, most of the students weren’t even going to church.  David Crowder and Chris Seay decided to do something about that and they started University Baptist Church in Waco in 1995, while he was still a student. Crowder became Pastor  of worship at the church and led worship throughout the year. The church’s congregation grew, and so did the band.

David noticed there was a lack of praise songs that really connected  those attending the church so he began writing songs specifically to reach hearts for the worship times at the church and eventually the church released an independent CD, Pour Over Me, followed by All I Can Say in 1999.

After 11 years together praising the Lord and wowing audiences,  the David Crowder Band released their final album Give Us Rest featuring “Let Me Feel You Shine,”and “Because He Lives.”

After the band broke up, David went in his own direction moving to Atlanta, Georgia to see how he’d get along just being Crowder.

Crowder’s thoughts on the new venture, his music and what it is like to perform onstage without the old band are documented in…

Crowder’s old-school country and bluegrass  influences in a lot of his music is awesome, but he also has a diversity in his sound which  reflects the fact that it’s his old church and the congregation back at University Baptist that he has in mind whenever he’s writing.

I have so many favorites that I’ll really restrain myself from posting them all and let you folks find your favorites to post 🙂
