Since my mother went Home to be with the Lord I have had much time to think and so I have done and about many things. However, when Duckie posted the video of Louie Giglio the other night it really got me to thinking about the greatness and faithfulness of our God.

When I look around at the world I see it fumbling and bumbling searching for answers. The truth is everyone is looking for an answer to something, but what I’ve learned is only God has the answer for He alone is the answer. Who knows more than the Lord does and who always has the best in mind for us but the Lord?

There’s a story about a preacher who was distraught and in his hotel room as he laid on the floor bawling and crying out to God all of a sudden he stopped and realized…….here lies a fool doing all of the talking to Someone who has all of the answers. Isn’t this what we all do? Go to the Lord and recite our problems which He already is aware of and, sometimes, don’t even stop for a breath for the Lord to answer us. I know I have.

Of course, this might only take place after we’ve exhausted all of our other avenues. Instead of going to the Lord first and foremost we look for our answer from an earthly source. Then when we’ve exhausted our sphere of influence we think “maybe I should pray about this”. The truth is if we would go to the Lord first we could save ourselves a lot of time and trouble.

The question is why do we do this? It’s a good one and for each of us maybe a different answer. Mostly though we’ve been trained this way. If it’s a health problem call the doctor; financial, call an accountant; legal, call a lawyer etc. The world specializes in individualized training and advertises what they can and will do for us.

God doesn’t specialize. He doesn’t have to because He knows everything plus what the “experts” haven’t even considered possible. I’m not saying do not call the lawyer etc. but am saying if we go to God and His Word first He will lead us to the right person who can help us with our problem.

As written in Proverbs 3: 5 & 6:

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I can think of no way better to end this then with a prayer.

Heavenly Father there is no problem too big or too small for You to handle and no question You cannot answer. Help me to remember this and that You will always be here for me because You will never abandon nor forsake me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
