The devil doesn’t persecute those who aren’t making a godly difference in the world.
When I got married and moved out to ‘the swamp’, I didn’t have a church to go to, but I missed learning. I didn’t like a whole lot of the TV preachers, so one night I decided to see if there was anything on the radio.
Down near the bottom of the FM dial, a preacher’s message caught my attention. I can’t remember what the sermon was, but I listened for a little while and really liked his style. He wasn’t fake sounding, his teaching was from the Bible which he read from scriptures a few times in the half hour I heard him, and there was just something I really appreciated about his message.
When we got our first computer a few years later, I looked up Pastor Adrian Rogers online and found “Love Worth Finding” and got to go through his archives of many radio/TV messages, and he’s been one of my favorites ever since.
He passed away in 2005, but his messages are timeless. I know some people probably get uncomfortable whenever I write about Christian persecution, and more people squirm when pastors preach about how to live Christianity out loud, but its’ important that we learn and take it seriously. Here are a couple of sermons today that deal with
How to Prepare for Persecution
And, the reward some day, When We All Get to Heaven
I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
