Reporter Asks Man Who Lost EVERYTHING in Harvey Why He’s Still Grateful — Gets the Perfect Answer
“To these amazing guys that helped me and some of my neighbors dogs that I rescued. I was worried there were too many dogs on the boat and it would tip over. I told them I would stay behind and for them to make 2 trips. They said NO we are taking all and you. We had 21 dogs on this boat. No place for any humans on this boat. We had to walk in water over my head to get out.”

Houston is a sprawling, underestimated, bewilderingly huge city with a lot of really vulnerable populations & a scrappy, wonderful heart

Notice the date on this one, they were rolling before Harvey hit. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865687551/Mormon-relief-supplies-roll-toward-Hurricane-Harvey.html
To quote from Scott Otts post this morning, “The stories of regular folks rescuing and sheltering flood victims remind me of this song, and the line that catches in my throat every time: “People came from miles around, just to help their neighbors out.”
There are plenty of good people and heroes risking their lives and donating their time and resources to help those in need right now. I’m grateful for these heroes and pray they outnumber the villains in Houston during this disaster. My prayers are the same as my friend Nanci who shared this video. “Praying that people will use this opportunity repent and come to Christ. There’s nothing like God taking EVERYTHING away for one to appreciate life…….”
Praying for Texas.
