Just a few Military news bits this morning, thanks to Suffer for sending me the stories.
For the past 7 or so years, the ROE or Rules of Engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan were considered by a lot of us to be destructive and outrageous- knowing that they put our troops in harms way. This could hopefully all change under Trump and with Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis who earlier this week appeared on Capital Hill and informed Congressional hearing panels of his intent to change the previous requirements to be in contact with enemy forces in Afghanistan before opening fire. You can bet a lot of us are breathing a big sigh of thanks to President Trump for giving his Defense Secretary the freedom to implement the changes. You can read more here….
One mother’s words after the horrific massacre in Las Vegas earlier this week should be a lesson to more people “Let’s not focus on that one bad person, everything that’s coming out is good. I see all these little blessings. I’m so touched…” This story just proves its not only ‘on the job’ where our military members are heroes.
Out of the same horror, another one of our exceptional Heroes not only shielded one woman with his body from gunfire, he also ran back into the danger to plug other people’s bullet wounds with his fingers.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
So many have demonstrated the love of Christ… sacrificing their lives so that others can live- on and off the battlefield. Our troops and Veterans have my utmost respect always. My heart aches for those we lose, and fills with pride when they demonstrate their love for strangers. God bless them for their willingness, bless their families for giving their loved ones for our nation. Keep them safe Lord.
In honor of our fallen this week.
Please wear red today as we Remember Everyone Deployed.
God bless all and have a safe day.
