When American boy was little, I bought a lot of stuff through a Christian catalog for home school supplies and books and movies for family times. One of the first series of books I bought was the Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. Having never read the series before I had heard a lot of great reviews about the stories. (The second series I bought was the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as I had already read and loved the Hobbit).
And so it naturally occurred to me after reading the books (and loving them all) for family read times, that I ought to buy the DVD set of the stories The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and The Silver Chair. Yes, they are made by the BBC, and yes, compared to the Hollywood production a few years later of the LW&W they aren’t full of spectacular effects, but they are good and true to the books. It’s been a few years since I watched them, but we as a family and the boy on his own loved watching these often.
I hope even if you’ve watched them before, you find time just to relax and watch again- if you haven’t, then I hope maybe you’ll make yourselves a snack, get comfy and just enjoy…
I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
