Well once in a while, I hear something different a few times that I need to decide if I like it or not. Sometimes I hear something new and it reminds me of someone else, and I instantly like it.
This week’s spotlight is someone I had not really known, except for his rendition of How Great is Our God– until Pf posted one of his songs earlier this week which kind of reminded me of David Crowder’s style.
Joshua Aaron is a Messianic Jew, a singer and songwriter who was born in the US, but holds citizenship in both Israel and the US. Currently he lives near the Sea of Galilee with his family.
He comes from a wildly diverse background, his heritage and personal testimony is quite a story…
His original style and music is uplifting, looking up, and looking forward to the Messiah’s return- and it reaches people all over the world as his popularity on you tube attests to.
Aaron’s 2012 release “You Are Holy“ won Joshua two Independent Music Awards for his original songs, “Hoshiana“ and “You Are Holy“. In 2016 his album Every Tribe” reached #1 on iTunes for “world” genre and #1 on Amazon in three categories; International, Praise & Worship and Christian Contemporary Music.
The album features Chief Joseph RiverWind, in the song with the same title (the song Pf shared here)
and Michael Weaver from Big Daddy Weave…
And, of course a favorite of mine for a while now …
Get to know him a little more in this short interview,
There are so many great Christian bands and artists we’ve been featuring here, but Aaron’s music adds something a little more- the roots of our faith, the roots of our Redeemer.
I love that younger Christians around the world can see the heritage of the Christian faith in their Jewish roots in music such as Aaron’s, while older folks can enjoy it as well for the prayer, לבוא בקרוב לורד ישו
Amen, Come soon Lord Yeshua
Have a blessed Sunday all!
