Happy Saturday y’all.
A few days ago I got an interesting video sent in e mail, and I thought it’d be cool to share it here for a Saturday Open Porch.
I know we have quite an age group here from late teen to… Heather, SarahAnn, Walter 🙂 And they will remember this time a lot more than the rest of us. Daisy and I weren’t born yet when this film was made, but we do remember a little of the culture, values and goodness of life back then. Enough anyway to make us nostalgic.
We were watching it at the same time, commenting on different things, but I think the thing that we both felt was that so much changed in such a short period of time. So many things can stick out for each of us, but for me, feminism the radical kind that seemed to gear up probably a few years later made the life shown here virtually impossible for any woman who would want the simplicity of being a home maker and stay at home mom. I find that pretty sad, because while many women have dreams, skills and interests, and ought to be able to follow them, a lot of us also find our niche, and desires to be at home raising a family.
Anyway, before I go off onto a whole rant I’ll stick to letting y’all finding what you remember and loved about time back then. It’s a neat video, and a nice reminder of things that once were, back in a time that wasn’t perfect, but it sure was nicer.
Guys, you might enjoy it too for different reasons lol.
This is an open porch, I hope everyone has a safe and great day. Post whatever’s on your mind….
And yeah, this song was on my mind the whole time writing this one…
And this one,
