Tuesday Tunes ALL DAY!

We’ve posted and hosted a lot of music here over the past nearly two years.  We’ve also talked about what music means, how it effects our lives, moods and how it can transport us back to any time in our lives.  Whether we were kids, in awe of life, but secure in our own little worlds…

*laying out under my beach blanket tent, strung between two crab apple trees in the back yard. Either gazing at the shapes in the clouds, reading my Nancy Drew book or day dreaming while listening to my dad’s radio…

or whether we had something major going on with ourselves or family, good or sad, family togethers for reunions…

*Time spent at my Dad’s Aunt & Uncle’s farm with cousins, Nana & Grampa, Aunts and Uncles. Us kids playing in the barn, playing hide n’ seek or tag out in the fields, then running to the picnic tables laden with so much yummy food which always included Nana’s cookies and marshmellow/jello ‘salad’, watching the grass hoppers and bugs flying in the sun’s rays as the shadows grew long…

or getting to spend our weekends with friends.

*Going to the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) with my friend, walking the midway, and having some crazy dude follow behind from one of the game booths singing an old classic to  us...

Music is a big part of every part of us.   I think if I was to post every song that goes with every memory in my life, I’d have enough articles for the next 20 years.

Some songs emit such strong emotions and conjured up memories I don’t want to think about that I can’t listen anymore. Or it took me a long time to be able to hear again.  Other songs hit me years after hearing them in a whole new way, giving me a different sense of release and comfort through some of my darkest hours…

Music makes you smile, dance, scream, cry and everything in between.  And so many songs make you long for times before all the life started happening.

As with a lot of what I write, whether heart bits, preachin’, teaching, ranting or even just the odd nostalgic open thread, I have no idea where this all came from, but I hope it invokes some of your own happier times enough that you might want to share your music memories with us.

It’s Tuesday and we’ve got music all day and will continue rockin’ the porch into tonight!  Have a rockin’ jazzin’, groovin’ or toe tappin’ porch time y’all!
