It’s hard to believe the movie Forrest Gump is 25 years old this year. To honor that, they are releasing the movie to select theaters this coming June for a few special days only on the 23rd and 25th . Better still, they are also releasing the movie Saving Private Ryan on June 2 and 5 to honor 75 years since D-Day.
Forrest Gump was the top-grossing film of 1994, and portrays the fictional Gump’s unique view of the most memorable events of the 20th century. It’s also one of my favorite movies.
And, that is the subject for a lazy Saturday on the porch. Movies. Favorites and favorite scenes, favorite actors/actresses, characters, musical score….
There are so many movies I love, pretty near every category. For classics, Casablanca and African Queen, and novel based classics such as To Kill a Mockingbird and my all time favorite Lord of the Rings trilogy.
War based classics such as the Great Escape
and the Dirty Dozen, to modern based on true life heroics such as Hacksaw Ridge. Historical based James Fenimore Cooper classic Last of the Mohicans and Scottish legend Braveheart.
There are so many great movies out there, old, classic, horror flicks, sci fi, fantasy, cartoon & animated.. gotta throw Fantasia and Cars (the original) in the mix.
I could go on for a lot longer, but I won’t. I want to hear & see your favorites!
Got a classic line ? A favorite character? Hero or Heroine?
A favorite scene, tell it, post it, play it. It’s an open porch Saturday. I hope everyone has a great one!
