So I’m sweating through another cleaning day, wishing I had started earlier, when it was much cooler. But, as I like to do, I spent that cooler time having coffee out on the balcony. So now I pay for that enjoyment.
Right now I’m relaxing after a lunch of steamed fish and green beans, listening to some old Aerosmith. And I figure it’s a great time to extend my lunch break by putting together tonight’s music thread. Two birds with one stone, so to speak.
Coming up with topics sometimes proves troublesome, but today is rather easy. WEATHER
Being in Southern Kalifornia, I get to experience extreme temperature changes, sometimes in the same day. I can leave in the morning, wearing jeans and a hoodie, and by noon I’m in need of shorts and flip flops. Happens quite often when I volunteer with Bags of Hope, and can be brutal at times. At least we don’t have the humidity many of you have to deal with. 🥵
Today there’s actually clouds rolling by, which lends some beauty to my view here. Hey, how about a song about clouds? ☁️☁️☁️
WHAT — WAS — THAT?? HAHAHAHA!! I MUST BE LOSING IT.
There may be clouds, but the sun is still shining brightly. Hey, I know.....how about a song about the sun? ☀️
Thank you, George Harrison, for soothing me back to sanity.
One thing Kalifornia had a lot of recently was rain. Lots and lots and lots of rain. So much rain that, for the first time in something like 11 years, the entire state is out of the drought. Praise God!
But of course they’re still calling for conservation measures, which is actually something I agree with….except when it comes to my coffee. Then you don’t mess with my water supply. ☕️☕️☕️
As an added bonus, all that rain kept the skies clear of smog, which is really bad here. No acid rain, or something similar. Which is a good thing. Hey, how about a song about rain? 🌧
Glad we never got that stuff here. Sheesh, that would be freaky!
The other Kalifornia got tons of was snow. Tons and tons and tons! So much that a ski resort at Mammoth is planning to be open in…..wait for it…..AUGUST! That’s crazy!
I myself get to enjoy the snow from the safety and warmth of my apartment. I have an unobstructed view of the mountains, especially the Big Bear, Arrowhead, and Snow Valley areas. Been to Arrowhead a few times, and actually have friends who live there. Took my son there years ago for his first experience in snow. He loved it. Even went sledding.
But there is one important thing you must remember when you’re playing in the snow.❄️ And yes, it is time for a song, and this song addresses that one important thing....
Hehehehe…..eeeek! Ewwww! 🤮🤮🤮
Okay, I’m done. Gonna turn it over to y’all. Songs about weather, heck, pictures about weather. Anything you have about weather…..let ‘er rip!
