The  artist in today’s spotlight is a young lady’s who’s song was included in last week’s spotlight of recently released videos. Artist/songwriter Hannah Kerr is a name that until last week wasn’t familiar to me.  But that’s what I like about doing these spotlights- it gives folks a chance to learn new artists and styles of music they might not be familiar with, and might even find a few new favorites.

Hannah started her music recording career in 2015, with the extended play, I Stand Here, that was released on October 16, 2015, by M2T (Made to Thrive) Records, a division of Black River Entertainment, a record label founded by Mark Hall of Casting Crowns.  The single charted on the Billboard magazine Christian Airplay chart at No. 49 and settled on the number 47 spot.  A year later she released her debut studio album, Overflow.  The second single off the album, Undivided, became her second song to make it to the charts,  on the Christian Airplay chart, peaking at No. 41

The song Warrior was released as the fourth single from Overflow, and Hannah released a live version to her YouTube channel. The song peaked at No. 20 on the Hot Christian Songs Chart.

This short interview is worth watching…

Hannah began touring in 2016 and has shared the stage with major Christian artists including Casting Crowns, Matt Maher, Building 429, Jonny Diaz, for KING & COUNTRY, and Newsboys.  She has been named the 1st Ambassador for Youth For Tomorrow’s Jodi McQueen Therapeutic Music & Arts Center and “YFT Heart Beats” campaign. Kerr currently attends Belmont University in their Ministry and Worship program

I hope you enjoy more of her music, and as gifted as she is, I’m sure she’ll have more hits in the future. Thank you Daisy for finding the videos/interviews!

Have a blessed Sunday all!
