Fleet Week: “The LA Fleet Week Foundation is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to plan and support LA Fleet Week, Los Angeles’ largest Labor Day event. LA Fleet Week was created through a unique public-private partnership to connect Southern Californians with the men and women of our United States Sea Services. These connections are facilitated through numerous outreach and engagement opportunities across the region and at a centralized event location on the LA Waterfront at America’s largest port.”
The First Fleet Week was in 1982. The Mayor of LA is an Event Chairman. FleetWeek’s Leadership Council includes Ambassador Frank Baxter, Councilmember Joe Buscaino, Governor Gray Davis, and Governor Pete Wilson. The Board of Directors includes Stephanie Stone, USN (ret.), (Director), Chief Deputy Director | Military Veterans Affairs County of Los Angeles, and RADM Mike Shatynski, USN (ret.) (Director).

“SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA’S END-OF-SUMMER TRADITION: LA Fleet Week® is an annual, multi-day celebration of our nation’s Sea Services held on the LA Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles over the extended Labor Day Weekend. Free to the public, our event features active duty ship tours, military displays and equipment demonstrations, live entertainment, aircraft flyovers, STEM Expo for kids of all ages, annual Conquer the Bridge Labor Day 5.3-mile walk/run over the Vincent Thomas Bridge, 5 on 5 Basketball Tournament, rigorous Obstacle Course (new!) and Galley Wars culinary cook-off competition between Sailor, Marine & Coastguard teams. Lots of fun for the entire family.”
VETERANS VILLAGE: Veteran service organizations providing valuable services, support, and hospitality to our beloved veterans and their families.
MILITARY VILLAGE: Outdoor display of historic and modern military vehicles and equipment, bringing visitors up close to take advantage of unique engagement and photo opportunities.
STEM EXPO: Engaging STEM displays (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) geared toward middle and high school students who are interested in STEM-related careers, plus hands-on activities for all ages demonstrating how STEM impacts our everyday lives.
FIRST RESPONDERS VILLAGE: Emergency service organizations and first responders providing education about their services, demonstrating their capabilities in response to major disasters, showcasing their department assets, and recruiting for current and future job opportunities.
GENERAL EXHIBITORS: Family-friendly displays connecting a variety of products and services with event attendees and visiting military service personnel.
