Saturday Porch Time

Good Saturday Mornin’ y’all!  I don’t know about most folks, but I know some of us have a rainy day in store.  As I write this, the sound of rain comes and goes as showers pass over, but we’re slated to have a lot of moisture coming up from the gulf as the storm heads north east. So I guess Bam and Lawngren also have some rain in their forecast.

I imagine it will be a good day for inside chores which are always waiting to be done it seems.   I only have a couple more hours worth of clearing outside in my yard where the veggie garden is going to be, but I guess I’ll have to wait until next weekend to finish that. As long as I can get everything ready so to get my seeds in by the 2nd week of November 🙂

I don’t have a whole lot to share today, except maybe a song…

Oooh and a Longfellow poem …

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.
My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
And the days are dark and dreary.
Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

I wonder if that second to last line was a bit of an inspiration for…

I don’t mind the rain, and sometimes it’s good to have dreary. Makes one have to slow down and relax.  I like the idea that behind the clouds, the sun is still shining.

So whether it’s rain or shine where you are today, I hope you all have a beauty day, and come by and spend some time here as the rain falls on the porch roof.

Be blessed y’all!
