Sunday’s Porch, Let Him Draw You In

Happy Sunday all.  I enjoyed last Sunday, watching other church sermons online, and hopefully folks will be able to spend time in fellowship, even if at a distance through social media again.

This Sunday though (still feel free to share your church service if its available online) I’d like to do something I frankly think is needed more of…share and encourage in praise and prayers.

I realize that folks have their own prayer times, and even sharing praises in fellowship with your church families, and we’ve even done some here before- but it’s good to have ‘corporate’ prayer & praise, and what better time than the uncertain time we’re dealing with right now.

Before I start off with mine, I’d like to take the time to remind folks that here, we’re not perfect, but we care. We’re not always going to agree, and we might feel our feathers getting ruffled, might even snap out at each other from time to time as family and friends tend to do.  It doesn’t mean we don’t love each other.  This song that we chose for our theme song is perfect for the reason it says,

Come meet this motley crew of misfits

We’re definitely that. Human, yes, Christians, yes, fallen, yep. Sinners, definitely, forgiven, YES, forgiving- absolutely. Perfect, not a chance. Always living what we believe and in Whom we believe in, unfortunately not, but we will always strive towards that. All of our imperfections doesn’t change the fact that God loves all who believe on Jesus and allow Him to mold us and shape us into His image.

Some folks might need a little more molding, shaping and chiseling than others, but none of us will be perfect as He is.

Just come to the table
Come join the sinners, you have been redeemed
Take your place beside the Savior now
Sit down and be set free…

Thank You Lord that You are everything You say You are, that You are above everything and anything. You know when we fail, when we fall, and what’s in our hearts.  You are Most Holy, Righteous and so much higher in Your ways than we can ever imagine, and yet You still love us, and always loved the world so much that you took our place in humiliation, agony, and every kind of pain, even while we were still Your enemies. You loved us.   Thank You Lord Jesus. Your love never fails, Your ways are perfect, and Your grace and mercy are endless.  You are Faithful and True, no matter how many times we mess up.  You’re always there to pick us up, dust us off, and set back on Your paths of righteousness, learning always as we go.

Please Lord, help me to grow to be more and more like You. Protect our friends, those who we see every day, those who are away, and those we don’t see, yet know they are here.  Help us to point the way to You, and help us to give a reason for the hope we have in us.  Help us to get through these trials and tests of life, learning more as we grow, and give us the strength to keep on going even when we get tired.  Help us to help others as they have anxieties and fear about the things going on in our country and world.  And thank You Lord for being in control of it all, even when things for us seem to be out of control.

In Your most Perfect and precious Name, Amen.

I know we’ve got prayer warriors here and would love to pray along with each other, but for folks who might not feel like praying “out loud” maybe add a praise and all post a song that speaks to your hearts today.

I hope everyone has a beautiful, safe and blessed Sunday!
